A Blockchain is a growing list of records. These records are called blocks and they are linked using cryptography. Each block contains three elements. The first element is a cryptographic hash of the previous block. The second component is a timestamp. The third element is transaction data. Specifically, a Merkle tree generally represents this transaction data.
